Light of the World

约翰福音 1

 祂里面有生命，这生命是人类的光。  光照进黑暗里，黑暗不能胜过光。

那照亮世人的真光来到了世上。

但所有接纳祂的，就是那些信祂的人，祂就赐给他们权利成为上帝的儿女。 我们见过祂的荣耀，正是父独一儿子的荣耀。

In him was life, and the life was the light of men.  The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.

But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God,

And the (Light) became a man and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.                     

Light.

Light is as important to life as oxygen. 

Light is for the whole world.   Light is not for a select few.  It is not reserved for the rich, the good, or those who could deserve it any other way.

Light is a gift for every soul.

Darkness.  Darkness drowns out life.  Darkness often hides the ways and methods of death, giving opportunity for every evil. 

Light breaks darkness.  Light always trumps darkness.  Darkness cannot overcome it.

Light reveals itself to every soul on earth.  Like a moth to a flame, every life longs for light.  Light is the beginning of life.  In tandem with nourishment, light ultimately bears fruit. 

Night in Nyonya’s Window is surprisingly bright!  The daytime light has moved to the other side of the world, yet the cast of the moon illuminates the leaves to blue.  The lanterns draw us in to the life that is brought by the day…a harvest of beauty, sweet, and the work of one’s hands.

With the True Light, even the dark of night is given life.  The presence of the True Light guards and protects.  Rest is given as the earth waits for morning. 

This is true in any language.  In every realm, light is true to its purpose and gifting.  The Light is for every one of us and we do well to let Him draw us in.
